NEWS
After much soul searching, we have concluded that our various energies, time availabilities, and numbers necessitate that Soul Cafe take a sabbatical. Our name, "Soul Cafe", our defining logo, and those core values we all hold so dear will be retained with team members, eagerly awaiting a new team of energetic leaders and organizers so that it may resurface at another time or another place.

The Soul Cafe team--- Paula Murphy, Boyd Parmeter, Dick Hobson, Dickey Weinkle, Ginger Larson--- would like to thank you for your continual support during the last four years. This team has adored both the process and the production each month, each of us energized and elated through seeing and sharing in the music and community that is so rich.

We have received several calls from people who are interested in helping to keep Soul Cafe active and alive, and we hope to receive even more. When the time is right, we will contact anyone who has expressed interest.

Our web page will remain up for several more months for your listening and viewing pleasure.

We would like to acknowledge our good friend, Monique-Cheri Pierre for creating the concept four years ago, which became Soul Cafe. The start-up team also included Kate Black, Paula Murphy, Boyd Parmeter, and Dick Hobson. Thanks to our beloved Boyd Parmeter's Soul Cafe House Band, as well as the other wonderful musicians who played during the course of the thirty six concerts we have enjoyed. Thank you for your generosity.

Additional thanks go out to our publicity team (Ron Greystar, Sue Ellen Parkinson, Lynn Dee Johnson, and Kimball Dodge), our loyal volunteers (especially Gayle Ann Holtz and Jane McCabe), and Carol Bergman for housing us.

Lastly, we want to thank you, the Willits community for all its support. We take so much pride in having been able to help community-based organizations raise approximately $13,500 as they provided us all with superb dining experiences.

Soul Cafe may be on sabbatical, but that does not mean "goodbye".

For now, Soul Cafe has pressed the "pause" button.

Come Have Dinner and Hear Great Live Music with:
Boyd Parmeter's Soul Cafe House Band
To Be Announced

BOYD PARMETER's SOUL CAFE HOUSE BAND
includes Boyd, Maria Steffen, Ron Maass, Jim Church,
and Dorothea & Dorian May.
These musicians will open the evening, then will set the stage
for the featured musicians as well as the after-concert dinner.
They are a delight and are tremendously popular,
and Soul Cafe is so very honored to have them!
You will certainly enjoy their music throughout the evening.

Soul Cafe takes place the first Sunday of the month beginning at 5pm and ending at 6PM. It's presented at the Willits United Methodist Church. There is a "cafe" set up in the community hall put on by a different local non-profit each month as a fundraiser for them. They will offer soups, bread, desserts, fair trade coffee and teas. Boyd Parmeter's Soul Cafe House Band opens, and then the featured performers. At the conclusion of the featured performance, our House Band continues to jam as people hang out after the performance at the cafe, eating and visiting together.
The cafe remains open until 7PM.

This is a volunteer-based, community-oriented event which is non-denominational; it is open to the public; families and children are welcome. The event is free of charge, although donations are gratefully accepted!

Our goal is to bring people together in community and to celebrate love, spirit, our common humanity and to touch people's hearts through music... all types of music.

SOME OF THE CORE VALUES OF SOUL CAFE ARE:

Promoting a sense of community and peaceful co-existence
Celebrating diversity and our connection (we are all one)
    Celebrating the power of love
We are non-dogmatic and not presenting a specific religion
We don't have an agenda about what people need to do with their spiritual experience.

THE WHOLE COMMUNITY IS INVITED TO JOIN IN AND THE MUSIC IS FREE.

So tell your friends! Help spread the word! All are welcome here!
